Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston, LA. Rev. Reggie Bridges will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Pines Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Fletcher was born on January 6, 1940 in El Dorado, AR and passed away January 10, 2015 in West Monroe, LA. He was born to the late Thomas Gaines Tompkins and Marjorie Rebecca Griffin Tompkins. Fletcher lived in Ruston, LA for the last fifty-five years and was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he was a member of the Alexander/Hipp/Wall Sunday School Class for the last fifteen years. He was retired from a career in Personnel Management, working for T.L. James & Co. Inc., Conagra, and People Centered Services and loved playing golf with his friends, fishing, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. Fletcher was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Powell Tompkins. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Sue Hall Tompkins; daughter, Susann Tompkins McMahen and husband, Paul Alan McMahen of Homer, LA; son, John Fletcher Tompkins and wife, Pamela Burgess Tompkins, of Ruston, LA; sister, Jerolyn Tompkins Taylor and husband, Max Taylor of Smackover, AR; 4 grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn McMahen of Raleigh, NC; Susann Elise McMahen of New Orleans, LA; John Evan Tompkins and Sarah Frances Tompkins both of Ruston, LA. Pallbearers will be: Art Lackey, Greg Scott, Fred Sutton, Shane Crawford, Chris Wyatt and Richard Hanry. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Rick Rogers, Billy Belding and P.V. Griffin. . Visitation will be at Temple Baptist Church Wednesday prior to Funeral services from 9:30 -10:30 A.M.
