Woods Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Monroe Memorial Park Monroe, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA. Mr. Towers was born March 30, 1916 in Belmont, IL and passed away December 11, 2008 in Monroe, LA. A retired City Marshall with the City of West Monroe, he was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe where he served as Chairman of the Ushers for many years. Mr. Towers was a US Navy veteran of World War II, Past Master of West Monroe Masonic Lodge 419, the Scottish Rite, and Barak Shrine. His beloved wife, Bernice Towers, preceded him in death in April, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances Rainbolt Tower, a sister, Alice Dunn, and a brother, Robert Tower. Survivors include his sons, Jerry Towers and wife, Wanda and Tommy Wrenn and wife, Helen; 4 grandchildren, Greg Wrenn and wife, Marilyn, Donna Spears and husband, Gene, Jay Towers and wife, Tessa, and Jill Towers; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Frances Bowman; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Glover. Pallbearers are Eugene Eppinette, Tom McCandlish, Judge Charles Traylor II, Judge Charles Joiner, Bobby Wilson, Greg Wrenn, Jay Towers, and Gene Spears. Honorary pallbearers are Bert Hatten, Judge William Norris, Red Sims, Don Zeigler, and June Thatcher.
