RITA GAIL TOWNSEND

Funeral services for Rita Gail Townsend, 59, of West Monroe, are at 1:00 p.m., 
Monday, January 16, 2012 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. 
Dr. Toby Frost will officiate. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery under 
the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Mrs. Townsend was born December 1, 1952 in Monroe and passed away January 13, 
2012, in Monroe.

She was preceded in death by parents, Billy and Dorothy Wood; husband, James 
A. Townsend; son, Jimmy Townsend; and her sister, Dale Wood Goettig. 

Mrs. Townsend was a Ouachita Parish School Board employee for many years.

Mrs. Townsend is survived by her brother, Billy Wood, Jr. and wife, Pamela; 
granddaughter, Kristy Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Skylier 
Mitchell; father-in-law, Oscar "Rat" Townsend; brother-in-law, Dale Townsend; 
nephew, Landon Wood; niece, Brooke Wood; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at Kilpatrick 
Funeral Home West Monroe.
