Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Warden with Rev. C.F Almand, Baptist minister of Delhi officiating. Interment followed in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery with the American Legion post of Rayville in charge of services at the grave. Active pallbearers were members of the Rayville legion post and honorary pallbearers were Frank Grigsby, Mr. Weber, George Wedgeworth, Mr. Caldwell, Tom Robinson and Rube Phillips. Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville was in charge of arrangements. Young Travis is survived by his parents, Mr and Mrs. W.W. Travis of Warden; three brothers. Victor Travis of Dunn, Walter W. Travis Jr of the United States Army. and Edmond Travis of Warden; and a sister Miss Dorothy Travis of Warden. Travis was reported killed when an army "jeep" truck in which he and two other marines turned over last month in Iceland. Travis was said to have been the only casualty in the accident.
