James Treadway was born in Beattyville, Kentucky, December 8, 1930. He passed away Monday, June 1, 2015, at the age of 84. He grew up in Hamilton, Ohio in a family of eight children. He entered the Army in service to his country and was stationed in Fort Knox before being assigned to Korea during the war. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1953 and returned home to marry his sweetheart and raise a family of five children. After graduating from Anderson College in Anderson, Indiana in 1959, he became a Church of God pastor in Michigan, and later returned to Anderson as book editor of Warner Press. He then worked with the Church of God missions board and edited Missions Magazine and traveled around the globe writing stories of missions ministries in other countries. His pastorates later took him to Louisiana, Wisconsin, back to Michigan and then to Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Mae Peak Treadway; daughter Kathie Sue, her husband Jeff Wilkerson and their daughters, Emily and Erin; daughter Laura Karen Treadway; son, James Harold Treadway, Jr. and his wife Sherri and their son, Jason Schaffer; Rebecca Treadway Fancher, her husband R. Keith Kimball and children James Reagan Fancher and wife, Grazi, Lincoln Douglas Fancher, Laura Fancher and husband-to-be Chris Hinton, Mara Kimball and Heath Kimball. He is preceded in death by his parents, V.L. and Laura Treadway, sisters Joyce Bendlin and Mary Dennis, brother William Carl Treadway, and daughter, Jamie Lynn Treadway. Interment will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 at the National Cemetery in Natchez, Mississippi, where he will receive full military honors. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Cypress Street Church of God in West Monroe, Louisiana, where he attended since moving back to Louisiana in 2012, with the Rev.
