E. TRIPP, JR. Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA. Funeral services for J. E. Tripp, Jr., 83, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Lakeshore Baptist Church with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Tripp passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010.He was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church and a deacon for many years. He was a charter member of Lakeshore Lions Club. Mr. Tripp retired from Borden's after 40 years of service. He was a High School Football Official for thirty years, and a coach with Minor League, Little League, Dixie League, and Dixie Major League. Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Rhoda Tripp; sons, James E. "Skipper" Tripp, III and wife Cindy of Brentwood, TN and Scott Tripp and wife Christa of Monroe, LA; daughters, Candy Tripp Manning and husband Mike of Aurora, IL and Pam Tripp McCarty and husband, Darryl of Mobile, AL; eleven grandchildren, Sarah James Myatt and husband Jacob of Hendersonville, TN, Emily Tripp of Nashville, TN, Megan and Amber Tripp of Brentwood, TN, Michael Manning of New York City,NY, Christy Manning of West Memphis, AR, Dennis McCarty of Mobile, AL, Danny McCarty and wife Angela of Mobile, AL, Larry McCarty and wife Lauren of Jackson, MS, Andy Tripp and wife Becky of Monroe, LA and Jonathan Tripp of Monroe, LA; sister, Opal Burns of Winnsboro, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Lakeshore Baptist Church Deacons: Scotty Barnes, Glen Bennett, Mike Chilton, Pete Davis, Jim Easterling, Gene Ford, Matthew Smith, and William Warner. Honorary pallbearers will be the other deacons of Lakeshore Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Memorials may be made to Lakeshore Baptist Church or the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
