Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Carmelyn was born in Altanta, Texas on July 24, 1938 and went to Heaven on October 21, 2014 after a lengthy illness. She had a strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends. Carmelyn was a talented artist. She sang, danced, and acted on the small stage. She played the piano, guitar, banjo, mandolin, and ukulele. She retired after 25 years from the Library at University of Louisiana at Monroe as their Executive Administrative Assistant. Carmelyn was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church. She was married for 48 years to the love of her life, Joe Tucker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel "Joe" Bryan Tucker, Sr. and son, Joel "Bryan" Tucker, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Tucker Wofford, her husband Robert "Bobby" Wofford; and daughter, Marina Tucker Raborn, her husband Edmond "Eddie" Raborn. One of "Nana's" greatest loves was her grandchildren, Joshua Tucker Leonard and wife Krystal Holdman Leonard, Robert "Connor" Wofford, Madison Bryan Raborn, Jordan Nicole Raborn, and Tucker Edmond Raborn. She is also survived by her sister, Catherine Slavent Jones of Amarillo, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Barney Allen Tucker, Billy Wayne Tucker, Joel Keith Tucker, Perry Tucker, Tracy Ardito, Allen Cannon, and Mark Lindstrom. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doy "Red" Raborn, Don Raborn, Chris Eubanks, and Brad Pevehouse. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in tribute with either the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
