JR. USSERY Funeral service for Mr. Fred M. Ussery, Jr., 93, of West Monroe, LA, will be held 3:00PM, Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Jon Tellifero officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd., Monroe. Mr. Ussery passed away on November 13, 2014, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. Mr. Ussery was a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Monroe, and a retiree from the Louisiana State Department of Revenue. He was an avid pilot and owned a plane with his late brothers Roger and James C. "Jake" Ussery in the late 1960's and early 1970's. He particularly enjoyed flying with his son, Dr. Fred Ussery, III, who also is a pilot. Mr. Ussery was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel S. Ussery; parents, Fred M. Ussery, Sr. and Mabel Rogers Ussery; his brothers, Rodger D. Ussery and James C. "Jake" Ussery; step-brother, Claude Ussery; step-sister, Thelma Berry, and daughter, Kimberly Ann Ussery. Survivors include his son, Dr. Fred M. Ussery, III; daughter-in-law, Sarah G. Ussery; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Ussery. Honorary pallbearers will be Reubin Simmons, Kenneth E. Booth, Melvin Cleveland, Fred Huenefeld, Gary Cook, and Howard Barbo, Jim Merriweather and Shelby Watson. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until 3:00PM, Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at the Mausoleum Chapel of Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of West Monroe in lieu of flowers.
