Lee was a native of New Orleans and a lifelong resident of River Ridge. She was a graduate of Ridgewood Preparatory School, University of Mississippi in English and Journalism and Loyola Law School. She was a former staff attorney at New Orleans Legal Assistance and former managing Attorney for special education at Advocacy Center. At the time of her death she was a special education staff attorney at Hammonds and Sills of Baton Rouge. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Louise Welman Vaught and Dr. Lee Norwood Vaught, Jr. and is survived by her sister, Dr. Susan Louise Vaught. Private interment in Hope Mausoleum, New Orleans, LA. Memorial Services will be held at Jackson Avenue Evangelical Congregation, 2221 Chippewa Street at Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 9:00 A.M.
