DOROTHY MARIE VAN VOORHIS

Mrs. Dorothy Marie Van Voorhis, age 88, died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, 
October 13, 2010 at The Laurels of Hendersonville, N.C. A native of Massillon, 
Ohio, a dedicated wife and mother, Dorothy (Dottie) was the daughter of the 
late George Peter Weber & Laura Agnes Brown. In addition to her parents, she 
was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Willis Wilson Van Voorhis, 
her brother William Earl Weber and her sister Ruth Virginia Hansel. Dorothy is 
survived by her two sons and their wives, Kim Van Voorhis and Madelyn K. Van 
Voorhis of Rutherfordton, NC; Gregory Van Voorhis and Katherine E. Van Voorhis 
of Sterlington, LA; two grandsons, Graham Van Voorhis and Kevin Van Voorhis and 
many very dear friends and relatives from Ohio, Florida and Louisiana. Dorothy 
was a member of the North Monroe Baptist Church of Monroe, LA. Dottie was a 
very loving person and dearly loved by many. Her presence will be missed by all 
who knew her. Arrangements will be private and limited to immediate family. In 
lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the American Heart Association .
