DOROTHY ELLERBE WADE

DOROTHY ELLERBE WADE, age 94 of Tampa, Florida died Thursday, September, 11, 
2014. Born September 24, 1919 at Riverside Sanatorium, Monroe and raised in 
south Monroe the youngest of four children of William B. Ellerbe and Elsie L 
Ellerbe. She graduated with honors from Ouachita Parish High School and 
married Melvin Carlton Wade who predeceased her in 2005. They were both very 
active in Calvary Baptist Church. In 1960 they moved to Lakeshore Drive in 
Monroe and were active members of Lakeshore Baptist Church. In 1972, Dot 
graduated from Northeast Louisiana University and subsequently retired as an 
executive secretary of the Association of General Contractors of Monroe. In 
2005 she sold her home in Lakeshore and moved to Tampa to be near her 
family.

She is survived by her son, Rodney Carlton Wade and his wife Sally of Tampa; 
their children, daughter, Rachel Chamberlain, husband Dylan; son, Wakefield 
Carlton Wade II, wife Melissa; and granddaughter Lilly Chamberlain all of 
Tampa; niece, Wanda Allen husband, R.H. of Memphis, TN; nephews, Dr. John 
Brady, wife Denise and Donald Ellerbe, wife Claire of Bossier City, LA; and 
Ronald Ellerbe, wife Susie of Birmingham, Alabama and their families.

Visitation will be Friday, September 19th 6:00 PM to 8:00PM funeral services 
will be Saturday, September 20th 10:00AM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in 
Monroe. Rev. William Smith, Senior Pastor of Lakeshore Baptist Church 
officiating. Interment will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
