Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Funeral services for William Samuel Walker, Sr., 66, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 5, 2009 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA, Brother Danny Mcllveene officiating. Interment will be held Luna Methodist Cemetery in Luna, LA. Sam Walker, a painting contractor, was born June 14, 1942 in Rayville, LA and passed away February 2, 2009 in West Monroe, LA, attended church at First Assembly of God. Poppa, as we all called him, loved his family and friends. Sam loved his work as a master of painting. Sam gave 110% to everything he did, believing if something was to be done; it had to be done right. He believed in a real work ethic. Sam loved to laugh and play practical jokes. He loved to fish and the fish feared him. Up in heaven, below His mansion, just over the hilltop, is a great body of water with the best lunker bass to ever be caught with Poppa's name on them! Rip-Um is here! Sam was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Wayne Walker, and brother, Shelby Dale Walker. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Janice Walker; daughter Sheri Lynn Walker; son William Samuel Walker, Jr.; brothers Pat and Dewayne Walker; sister, Minnie Anne Hennigan; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Davis, William Creech, and Heather Predaina; and several niece and nephews. Pallbearers are Pat and Dewayne Walker, Christopher Davis, Jerald Crill, Mickey Evans, and Johnny Legg. A special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff that took care of Sam and his family when he was ill. Visitation is Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
