Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Rosa lived life to the fullest and was active up until the last month of her life. She played tennis well into her seventies. She worked out and took very good care of herself which was evident to all. She loved fashion and would never be seen without her hair and makeup being perfect. She was not technologically disadvantaged and worked her iPhone with relative ease as many of you know, her Facebook friends. She never stopped learning, and was a "student" her whole life. She was fearless in her ability to explore the world of ideas and concepts that were different from her own. Not only was our mother generous but she had an abounding spirit of hospitality. For years, our parents would entertain in their home and facilitate many gatherings that would bring people togetherin love and fellowship. Mother was first and foremost a lover of God. In her later years, she came into an understanding of the unconditional love that God has for all people regardless of their race, nationality, creed, or any other construct. This understanding enabled her to give not only from her material resources but primarily from her heart. Mother was not given to sympathy but rather empathy for others because she understood people. She saw people through the eyes of God regardless of their circumstances or situations in life. She was always willing to help those in need. She gave generously to her church, ministries that helped the poor, and supported with great fervor the Nation of Israel. She also loved this country and supported many political causes. She gave generously, for many years, to Mercy Ministries here in West Monroe. Mother also gave financial support to widows with limited income. Many people have been greatly blessed and touched deeply by Rosa. Our mother was a licensed fire casualty agent for many years. She ran her own business, Farmerville Truck and Trailer Parts from 1981 - 1990. She opened R. Walker Fashion in West Monroe from 1991 - 1993. She was past president of the Northeast Women's Insurance Association, past president of the Glenwood Auxiliary, and past president of the D'Arbonne Study Club. Rosa is survived by her four doting sons; Rick Walker of Brentwood, TN, Charles Ray Walker and his wife, Renee of West Monroe, Thomas Randal Walker and his wife, Allison of West Monroe and James R. "Ronnie" Walker of West Monroe; grandchildren, Ricky Walker, Jr. and his wife, Pamela, Kyle Walker and his wife, Ashley, granddaughter- in- -law, Kimmie Walker, Cory Walker, Ross Walker, Cole Walker; step grandchildren, Russ Hobbs and Meagan Hobbs; sister, Ginny Evans and Jewel King; and a multitude of family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Mack Walker; and beloved grandson, Ryan Walker. Visitation will be held at Family Church on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Rosa was a long standing member of Family Church for over 35 years and raised her family there, but due to her illness and commitment to the Lord, she began attending Christ Church with her son, Ronnie. Celebrating her life will be Pastors Tom Lowe, Beck Payne, Michael O'Neal, Michael Stravato and Jeremy Lowe. Honoring Rosa as pallbearers will be Ricky Walker, Jr., Kyle Walker, Cory Walker, Ross Walker, Cole Walker, Adam Hrivnak, Scott Carson, Josh Taylor and Evan McCurry. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Ely, Steve Powell, Dale Antley and Steve Copeland.
