CHARLES EDWARD WALTER

Funeral services for Charles Edward Walter, 75, of West Monroe, will be held at 
10:30 AM Thursday, November 5, 2015 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home on 
Sterlington Road with Pastor Mike Sammons officiating. Interment will follow at 
Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, 
Monroe.

Charles died peacefully in St. Francis Hospital on November 2, 2015 in Monroe, 
LA. Charles was born on June 6, 1940 in Oak Grove, LA. He was very proud of his 
twenty year service in the US Navy. He served honorably on several vessels 
including the Submarine, USS Thomas Edison, during the Vietnam Conflict. He was 
a decorated sailor who received the rank of E-7. He was an avid lifetime fan of 
all LSU sports and the New Orleans Saints.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Gardner Walter; parents, JC and 
Rosie Walter; brothers, Larkin and David Walter, sisters, Billie Sue McPherson 
and Barbara McDonald.

Charles is survived by his brothers, Lavelle and Tommy Walter; sisters, Glenda 
Fay Youngblood and Marie Mays; children, Richard Walter, Brenda Roberts and her 
husband, Jodie and Janet Riley and her husband Bobby; grandchildren, Trey 
Roberts, Danielle Walter, Colton Walter, Bryce Walter, and Joshua Walter; and 
great grandson, Jayden Neville.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM Thursday to time of service at the funeral 
home.
