James Gardner officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Mildred Marjorie Wassan passed away on March 15, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born to Ellis and Verdie Wassan of West Monroe, LA on June 20, 1930. Millie graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA and then received her Master's Degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA and her Library Science Degree from East Texas State University in Commerce, TX. She taught school in Dallas, TX then retired and enjoyed a very tranquil life in Winnsboro, TX. She is survived by her brother, Ellis Wayne Wassan and wife J. Dianne Wassan of West Monroe, LA; nephew, Jason Wayne Wassan and wife Kim Perkins Wassan; niece, Jennifer Dianne Wassan Gates and husband Scott Gates; great-nephew, Lance Andrew Gates; great-nieces, Madeleine Sinclair Wassan, Amelia Faith Wassan, and Jenna Dianne Gates; and close friends, Susanne Starling of Dallas, TX and Betty Windmiller of Winnsboro, TX.
