WELCH, SR. Riser Funeral Home Columbia, LA Services for Donald D. Welch, Sr., age 61 of Hebert will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 23, 2007 from the Welcome Home Baptist Church in Hebert with Rev. Bill Gueringer officiating. Interment will follow in the Prewitt Cemetery in Mangham under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Mr. Welch was born on June 14, 1946 in Ft. Bragg. CA to the union of Lawrence and Lois Jordan Welch and died Thursday, December 20, 2007 at his residence. He was a retired shipping clerk with Coating and Laminating Inc. formerly Adams Industries and a cattleman. He also worked for Blount Construction Co. He was a 1965 graduate of Caldwell Parish High School and a member of the Welcome Home Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife: Linda Weed Welch of Hebert, his son and daughter-in- law: Major Donald and Carlynn Welch, Jr. of Peyton, CO, his daughters and sons- in-law: Lori and Jeff Bartlett of Minden, Katie and Todd McLain of West Monroe, his grandchildren: Taylor Welch, Sidney Welch, Jeb Welch, Sam Welch, Addison Welch, Connor Bartlett, Nixon Bartlett and Chandler McLain, and his brother and sister-in-law: Lawrence "Buddy" and Jean Welch, Jr. of Pine Bluff, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law: Mellie and Maurice Parker and his twin brother: Ronald Welch. Pallbearers will be Jeff Bartlett, Todd McLain, Larry Dannehl, Donald Oliveaux, Bryan Weed, William "Dub" Weed, T.J.Weed and Randy Weed. Donald's family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. David Burkett and his staff, Prime Care Home Health and Winter's Clinic. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until noon at Riser Funeral Home and 1:00 PM until time of services at the church.
