He was born July 22, 1932 in Shreveport, LA. He was a graduate of NLU in 1965, served during the Korean War 1951-1953, before being called to service and after Craig played minor baseball from 1951-1955. After 32 years he retired from BellSouth as District Engineer. Craig and Helen spent their retirement with family and friends fishing, crabbing and shrimping at their camp in Grand Chenier. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Whetstone; 5 children, Kevin Whetstone, Charles Whetstone, Jan Giger, Larkin Whetstone, Jo Anne Whetstone; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The family would especially like to thank the Almighty God for sending the two guardian angels that cared for Craig during his time of need. Donsha "D" Hodge and Ed Williams cared for Craig with so much love and attention. Craig loved them both with all his heart. Honorary Pallbearers are grandsons William Whetstone, Derek Trichell, Ryan Whetstone, Micah Whetstone, Colby Whetstone and Caden Whetstone. The family will receive friends at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, Monday, April 14, 2014 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM with a special memorial Rosary service at 5:00PM. Memorial service will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church officiating by Father Job. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. "He fought a good fight, he kept the faith, and he won the race!"
