WHITE Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA Funeral services for Allen C. White, 97, of Ouachita City, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Paron Baptist Church, Sterlington, LA with Rev. Jerrod Hawthorn officiating. Interment will be in Ouachita City Cemetery in Union Parish under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mr. White was born in Livingston Parish, LA on December 15, 1911 and died July 13, 2009 at Landmark Nursing Home in West Monroe, LA. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. White was a member of Free Mason of The Grand Lodge of the State of LA. Active member of Paron Baptist Church, he served as a deacon for 49 years. His favorite pastimes were fishing and gardening. Mr. White retired after 34 years from IMC Chemical Plant in Sterlington, LA. He loved children and was a very kind and gentle man. He was raised in the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home of Lake Charles and later moved to Monroe, LA in 1926. Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, William David and Rosa White; wife, Louisa White; sons, René "Buddy" White and Prentice "Pete" White; and brother, Cratis M. "Jiggs" White. Survivors include his two daughters, Boots Guthrie and husband Thomas, and Laetta Wells and husband James "Peanut"; grandchildren, Lenee Marshall, David Guthrie, Sharon Smith, Angela Dozier, Doug White, Kerrie Wells, and Karen McCaa; fourteen great grandchildren, and six great-great grand children. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Paron Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Paron Baptist Church. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The Ouachita City Cemetery Fund at Cross Keys Bank, P.O. Box 486, Sterlington, LA 71280.
