Bun was a graduate of Homer High School. He was proud of being a member of the Homer football team when Homer won the state championship game in 1939. He served in the U. S. Army in World War II and was a long time resident of Melville, LA before retiring from Exxon Mobile Corporation in Shreveport, LA. After retirement he and his wife moved to Haynesville, LA and later moved to Monroe, LA. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Monroe. He was also a 67 year member and Past Master of Humble Cottage Lodge in Opelousas, LA. He is survived by a daughter, Norma White Jenkins and husband, Guy of Greenwell Springs, LA; son, Burnice Lee "Buddy" White, Jr. and wife Donna of Lake Charles, LA; son, Dean K. White and wife, Diana of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, John D. Armstrong and wife, Stacey; Jennifer White Estes and husband, Brian; Amanda White Piranio and husband, Duane; Ashley White, Mark White and wife, Kelsi; great-grandchildren, Emily and Ian Armstrong, Will and Caroline Estes, Taylor Estes, and Henry Piranio. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. A. White and Ethel Shamp White; wife, Margaret Bays White; and brother, W. A. White, Jr. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe, LA with Rev. Grant Bamburg officiating. Interment will follow at Summerfield Cemetery in the community of Summerfield, LA. There will be a visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
