A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 19, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Ron Thomas of First Baptist Church of Swartz officiating. Graveside services will follow at Christ Church Cemetery in Bastrop, LA. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until service time Saturday. Mayvonne was a very outgoing character and never met a stranger. She enjoyed her Sunday School Class and singing in the choir. A summer obsession was visiting the farmers' markets, buying produce and fruit for canning, which she mastered. A collection of recipes and cookbooks assisted her pleasure of entertaining her church and family. Her sewing machine was a treasure. Baby clothes and quilts were her specialty. Fishing with Earl was a shared love. Her hushpuppies were the best! When she was confined at home, her favorite pastime was listening to gospel music, i.e., Gaithers, Oak Ridge Boys, Blackwood Brothers, Jim Reeves, and watching Lawrence Welk and old western movies. Mayvonne was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Earl Charles Wilkinson; and her daughter, Nancy Ruth Keddy. She was the last survivor of eight Williams' siblings. Survivors include daughters, Sharon Clopton of Perdido Key, FL, Loretta Ellis of Jackson, MS, Judi Little of Monroe, LA, and Cindy Strong of Woodbridge, VA. She left a legacy of 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grands and many nieces and nephews that she adored like her children. She adored her sweet neighbors for over 40 years and lived alone until age 92. Pallbearers are beloved members of our family: Edwin Little, Blake Little, Ryan Hughes, Keith Massey, Jimmie Marshall, and Steve Johnson. The family wishes to extend gracious gratitude toward lagniappe Health Care in Bastrop for care and attention toward our mother; she especially loved Marcella, Penny, Opal, and many others.
