Margaret's life can best be characterized by the word "servant." Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church of Morgan City. Previously, she served her Lord as R.A. leader, Sunday School teacher, member of the choir, and other areas of church life in Hodge Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Farmerville. She worked in many capacities throughout her life, in-cluding serving others as a beautician, seamstress and sales clerk in a retail store. During her retirement years, Marga-ret loved to cook — especially for her family; and at various times in her life, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, crocheting, quilting and reading. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Ann Cooper; her son-in-law, James E. "Jim" Cooper of Patterson; one grand-daughter, Rebecca "Becca" Cooper of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Mary Howard and Mae Travis, both of Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years of marriage, Huel D. Williams; her granddaughter, Jama Ann Cooper; her four sisters, Luna Williams, Jewel Brewster, Annie Belle Robinson Bruner and Gladys Baxter; and her three brothers, Marvin, Robert and Rev. Rand A. Baxter. A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Morgan City, beginning at 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Visitation will continue Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Farmerville, beginning at 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM. Margaret will be laid to rest in the Gayla Traina Memorial Cemetery in Jonesboro.
