Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mr. Delbert David Williams, Jr., 72, of West Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 15, 2009, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Larry Foster officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 PM Friday at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton, LA. Mr. Williams passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009, after a lengthy illness. He retired from Graphic Packaging after 47 years of dedication. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish and was a very talented athlete playing baseball for the U. S. Air Force. He was a very gentle man who adored his grandchildren. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his son, Randy Williams; grandson, Aidan Williams; parents, Delbert and Annie Bell Williams; sisters, Elizabeth Cochran and Vicky Young; and stepmother, Ruby Williams. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Bobbie Williams; son, Corey Williams and wife Valery of Monroe, LA; daughters, Kay Taylor of West Monroe, LA, and Wendy Hays and husband Scott of El Dorado, AR; grandsons, Dylan Hays of Conway, AR, and Will Taylor of West Monroe, LA; granddaughters, Devin Hays of El Dorado, AR, Elise Williams of Houston, TX, Rachel Williams of Houston, TX, and Reagan Taylor of West Monroe, LA; great granddaughter, Avery Hays of El Dorado, AR; sisters, Eloise Leach of Marietta, GA, Lorene Spangler of Odessa, TX, June Williams of Austin, TX, and Sheila Overcast of Lovington, NM; and brothers, Craig Thompson of Jeffersonville, GA, and Ricky Williams of New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Scott Hays, Dylan Hays, Scott Markgraf, Dunnie McDaniel, Alan Lansing, and James Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Taylor, and Billy Whittington. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
