Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service. Family Graveside Service at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Mrs. Williams was born in Farmerville, Louisiana on October 11, 1935, and passed from this life into God's loving embrace due to complications of diabetes on August 1, 2014. Mrs. Williams graduated Salutatorian from Farmerville High School in 1954. Achievements during her beautiful life include graduating Magna Cum Laude, Masters + 30 in Education, Minor in French, from ULM, retirement in 1998, from a career that she dearly loved as an elementary school educator in Ouachita Parish Schools, member and past president of Delta Kappa Gamma, Eta Chapter, as well as member and past president of United Methodist Women's Circle #3. In 1999, after retiring from teaching, she started Brownie Girl Scouts Troop #185. The greatest joys for Mrs. Williams included spending time and making memories with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Watching the students that she taught over the years grow into wonderful individuals and being a component in that process was a great pleasure in her life. She considered many, many former students to be "stars in her crown". Loves for Mrs. Williams include connecting with family, friends, and former students and fellow members at First United Methodist Church- Anna Gray Noe Sunday School Class, her dog Puddin', watching her plants grow, appreciating wildlife, reading and working puzzles. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton L. "Punch" Tucker and Mattie Lee Odom Tucker; brother, Bradley J. Tucker; beloved son, Michael Richard Hicks; nephew, Royal Mike Tucker, Jr.; spouse, William A. "Bill" Williams, whom she adored. Survivors include her brothers, Royal Mike Tucker, Herschel Van Tucker & wife Carolyn; children, John (Randy) R. Hicks & wife Jeanine, Connie D. Alexander and husband David; grandchildren, Amber Hennigan & husband Greg, Lee Hunter Hicks & wife Carol Ann, James Alexander, Olivia Alexander, William E. Alexander and great-grandchildren, Sophia Hennigan, Samuel Hennigan, Atticus Hennigan and Kynslee Hicks. "Receiving Christ" means believing in Him, Believing means through Faith we will try to be more like him: Humble, Obedient, Prayerful, Compassionate, Loving, Kind, Forgiving, Trusting and Patient. "He gives strength to the weary and increases power to the weak." Isaiah 40:29. We know that: He is the everlasting God, The Creator and Sustainer.
