Walton Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday, LA from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016. There will be a visitation in Natchez, MS at Kuehnle Hall next to Trinity Episcopal Church at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service at the church. Ronnie was born in Alexandria, LA at Baptist Hospital in 1942, and returned home 100 yards away from Baptist Hospital at Rapides, May 27, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. Beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather, Ronnie was a good man in every sense of the word - kind, gentle, generous, brave, tough, moral, smart, patient, caring, handsome, and good humored. Ronnie lettered in 4 sports while attending Pineville, HS, ran track while matriculating at Northeast Louisiana University, where he obtained a business degree and later moved to Ferriday and Vidalia. He was a founder of the Ferriday, LA chapter of Ducks Unlimited, coached the saltiest T-ball teams, winning 64 games in a row, and was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman, who spent his life exploring new places and ways to hunt and fish. Before 4-wheelers, there was Ronnie's red truck - we all recognized it immediately. He was a Christian. He and Ruth shared many exciting adventures and peaceful times too - fishing, traveling, dining, living life as well as a loving couple could. Ronnie was a respected, attentive, and savvy State Farm agent for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Julia Williams, and his stepson, Jay Mulhearn. He is survived by the love of his life, Ruth Williams, his brothers George (Gwen) Williams (Pineville, LA) and Mike (Mandy) Williams (Charlotte, NC), his sons, Greg (Aubry) Williams (Memphis, TN) and Kevin (Kathryn) Williams (Monroe, LA), stepchildren Brian (Ann) Mulhearn (Memphis, TN) and Shea (Keith) Stillwell (Benton, AR), nephews Wade Williams, Mike Williams, and Thomas Williams, and grandchildren Julia, Eliza, Edith, Mary Hunter, Mallory (Greg and Aubry), Clay and Andrew (Kevin and Kathryn), Patrick and Lizzie (Brian and Ann), and Stratton and Adam (Shea and Keith). Pallbearers will be George Williams, Mike Williams, Greg Williams, Kevin Williams, Clay Williams, Andrew Williams, Brian Mulhearn, Patrick Mulhearn, Wade Williams, Thomas Williams, Mike Williams, Bobby Harmon, and Tommy Ellett. If you needed Ronnie, he was always there when you needed him (and he was usually an hour early). His death was too early, and there won't be another quite like him. God bless Ruth, God bless Ronnie, and God bless all who knew and loved this singularly splendid Southern gentleman. Thank you to M.D. Anderson for their special care and to Dr. Christine Ince in Alexandria for her comforting guidance and care.
