Williams left this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi. She is survived by her loving husband Robert E. Williams of Delhi and two daughters, Nan Williams of Baton Rouge, LA and Jennifer Brooks and husband, Ben of Ennis, TX; two grandchildren, Taylor and Andrew Brooks and a sister, Karyn McComb of Eugene, Oregon. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Glen Rhodes and Jesse Compton Rhodes. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Herringville Baptist Church in Monticello, LA for over 51 years and was employed as a school teacher in East Carroll and West Carroll Parishes for 31 years until her retirement. After retirement she continued her love of children by teaching nine years at Riverfield Academy followed by two years at Delhi Charter School where she remained on their substitute list afterwards. She thoroughly enjoyed teaching children and taught three generations within the same family on some occassions. She loved to shop in the mall and often met three or four of her former students there for a lengthy visit. She was a dear loving wife and mother to her family. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 2, 2009 in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Delhi with Rev. Jeff Sykes officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Cox Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Kris Robinson, David Robinson, Andy Robinson, Ben Brooks, Steve Bonnette and Jeffrey Bonnette. Honorary pallbearers will be Corky Robinson, Virgil Johnson, Arlon Adams, Jimmy Rhodes Jr., Zeke Williams and Richard Torregano.
