Irvin Earl Williams, 82, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 10, 2017 at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. and interment will follow at the church cemetery. Rev. Williams was born and raised in West Monroe, LA. He surrendered his life to Christ at 10 years of age at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Later, he surrendered to God's call to ministry. He graduated from Calhoun High School, Louisiana College, and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. Earl and his wife Jane served as missionaries to Liberia, West Africa for 30 years through the Southern Baptist International Mission Board. Through their ministry at Mt. Nimba Baptist Church, thousands came to faith in Jesus Christ and were baptized. The impact of his ministry continues to this day. Before going to Liberia, Rev. Williams also served as Pastor of Lamar Baptist Church in Delhi, LA. He was described as a person who was warm and kind towards others and had a passion to see people come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord. Rev. Earl Williams is survived by his wife Jane, the love of his life of 56 years. He is also survived by his sister Marian Marsalis (Bill), and his brother, Johnny Williams (Mary). He and Jane have 5 children: Susan Wariner (Luis), Joel Williams (Melissa), Timothy Williams (Amy), Pam Johnson (Tommy), and Kenneth Williams (Kristi). They have 22 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Mission Offering or to the Betty Jonah Orphanage through Williams Boulevard Baptist Church in Kenner, Louisiana.
