GAYLIA JEANNINE IRBY WILLIAMS


Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Gaylia Jeannine Irby Williams 
also known as "Mammaw Gay", age 78, of Chatham, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. 
Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the Caney Lake Baptist Church in Chatham, LA with 
Rev. Lance Otwell and Rev. Bobby J. McGuire officiating. Interment will be at 
Caney Lake Baptist Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in 
West Monroe, LA.

Her family would describe her as the most caring, spunky, enthusiastic, 
genuine, compassionate, loving, beautiful, and most inspiring woman you would 
ever meet. She had the ability to light up a room whenever she walked in. Her 
greatest joy was having her family around her and waiting on them hand and foot 
while cooking them breakfast, lunch, and two dinners. She loved spending her 
time in the pool or in her canning room. She was a faithful servant to Our Lord 
and Savior and was an active member of her church.

Mrs. Williams was born September 19, 1938, and passed on August 30, 2017, at 
St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Williams was a member of Caney Lake Baptist Church. She retired from 
Entergy as a customer service representative after 22 years of service. She and 
her husband enjoyed retirement spending time at their homes on Caney Lake and 
Lake D'Arbonne with their loving children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wyatt E. Irby and her mother, Mary 
Ethel Roberts Irby.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Charles Williams of Chatham, LA; 
sister, Rosemary Tweedle and husband Donald of Delhi, LA; sister, Gloria Irby 
of Redondo Beach, CA; brother, Wyatt (Bugs) Irby Jr. of Weatherford TX; sister, 
Kathy Huff and her husband Terry of Delhi, LA; her son, Mike Williams of West 
Monroe, LA; daughter, Stacy Holton and husband Troy of Charleston, SC; son, 
David Williams and Debbie Berthelot of Monroe, LA. Grandchildren and Great 
Grandchildren are as follows: Heath Williams and wife Rebecca of Grayson, LA 
and their children Cooper and Aubrey; Jenny Teel and husband Peyton of West 
Monroe, LA and their children Brewer and Arden; Lauren Vollman and husband 
Taylor of Alexandria, LA and their child Harlow; Blake Webber of Charleston, SC 
and his children Brooklyn and Colton; Sydney Finch and husband Austin of 
Monroe, LA and their children Arabella and Austin Jr.; Stormy Webber and 
Stephen Boneparte of Columbia, SC; Hunter Williams of Ruston, LA; Reilly 
Williams of West Monroe, LA. Honorary grandchildren include Shelby Berthelot of 
Monroe, LA; Tyler Berthelot of Tampa, FL and Zach Murphy of West Monroe, LA; 
along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Eric Edwards, Cody Rials, Frankie Christman, Brandon Dunn, 
Ronny Savage, Jr. and Matt Nolan.

Honorary Pallbearers are Edward Samaha, Cliff White and Joe Gibson.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday, September 2, 2017, 
at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
