WILLS Funeral services for Robert John Wills, Jr., 88, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 2, 2016 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Judge Jim Norris will be officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Wills was born on December 11, 1927 in Slagle, Louisiana and passed away at his home on June 30, 2016 in West Monroe, Louisiana to be with his Lord and Savior. He graduated from Ouachita Parish High School and attended Louisiana Tech University and Northeast Louisiana University. Robert John was an avid duck and deer hunter in his younger days. On Christmas Day in 1944, he, his father and friends were duck hunting and the boat overturned and he lost his father. Due to this unforeseen tragedy, he became the head of his household. Robert John went to work for Missouri Pacific Railroad on May 10, 1950 and retired in 1984. He owned and operated R.J. Wills Antiques from 1950 until 2009 which was the oldest antique shop in North Louisiana. He had one of the largest Indian Artifact collections in this area. After retirement, he enjoyed his grandchildren and loved nothing better than his three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by the love of his life of 54 years, Betty Kay Van Wills; parents, Cora Pettit and Robert John Wills, Sr.; brother, Dean Wills, and sister, Carolyn Manhart. Robert is survived by his youngest daughter and caretaker, Eileen Greer and husband Chris; triplet granddaughters, Christin Greer Raley and husband Ben; Robin Greer and fiancé Garrett McKee and Whitney Greer Harper and husband Micah; great-grandchildren Amelia Kate and Olivia Claire Raley and Jordan Lane Harper; oldest daughter Elizabeth Beard and husband Danny; grandchildren Courtney Dean Boothe and husband Byron; Lindsey Dean Vickery and husband Matt; middle daughter Martha Foster and husband Mike; grandchildren Michael and Matthew Foster. Pallbearers will be Michael Foster, Matthew Foster, Don Wills, Lee Smith, Mark Manhart, and Ray Manhart. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Manhart, Pat Parks and Jules Parks. The family would like to give special thanks to his nurse, Sissy Cook, RN, Shirley Harris, Bri Sledge and all the staff at First Choice for the compassionate care and support. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM until service time.
