John Yates and Dr. Bill Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Windham passed away January 4, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center after a lengthy battle with renal cell cancer. C.O. (Charlie) was born in Rayville, LA in 1948, raised in Monroe and in 1967 graduated from Ouachita Parish High School. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force 4 years, 1968-1072, with overseas duty in Turkey. Mr. Windham served God every day of his life. He was a member of Rowland Road Baptist Church and Swartz Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was President of Diamond Hunting Club, Swartz, LA. Mr. Windham was retired from International Paper Company serving 36 years and 9 months. He was a general mechanic and was a member on the Emergency Response Team and the Firefighter Team. After a year of retirement, he chose to return to work and worked at Graphic International in West Monroe. To know C.O. (Charlie) was to love him. He brought joy and laughter to all around him. His greeting was a crushing handshake for the men (a gentle reminder who the "man" was), and a hug for all the ladies. His family and friends know him to be the one who would be there for them without question or hesitation to assist them. Strangers knew him for his many acts of kindness. Co-workers remember his physical strength, cooking skills; however, his wife's co-workers enjoyed the donuts and treats he brought to them. He was devoted husband to his wife, a loving father to his children, and a loving Papaw to his grandchildren. His granddaughters called him the "gentle giant". Mr. Windham was preceded in death by his father, James E. Windham. Survivors include his wife, Judy Eppinette Windham; his daughter, Michelle Jenkins and husband Ronnie; his sons, Chuck Windham and Jonathan Windham; his grandchildren, Hannah Windham, Ashley Primm, Brittany Primm; his mother, Dot Windham; his sister, Mae Windham; many nieces and nephews and other family members; and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be James Draughn, Chris Draughn, Bryan Eppinette, Greg Eppinette, John Pender, and Jerry Ponder, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry White, Sonny Ramsey, Delton Stover, Rodney Powell, and Jimmy Flanagan. Visitation where the family will receive friends and family will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. The family appreciates the love and kindness shown by family, friends, physicians, and care givers from St. Francis Medical Center and M. D. Anderson Medical Center. However, we wish to express special heart-felt gratitude for the excellent care given to C.O./Charlie by Dr. Scott Barron, M.D. Monroe, LA; Eric Johasch, M.D., Houston, TX; and Marcia Holloway RN, ANP, NP-C, Houston, TX.
