Funeral services for Roy Clifton Windsor, Jr., 81, formerly of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Mer Rouge United Methodist Church, 309 W. 11th St., Mer Rouge. Interment to follow at Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Cemetery in Oak Ridge. Rev. Mollie McGee will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Friday, June 27, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe. Roy was born in Oak Ridge on May 10, 1933. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Clifton Windsor, Sr., and Bettie Bell Rolfe Windsor, and by his brother, John Rolfe Windsor, Sr. He is survived by his former wife of 28 years, Sally Breckenridge Windsor, a sister, Bonnie Marie Porch, a daughter, Wendy Ellis Windsor, a son, Chris Windsor, 3 granddaughters, and dozens of dearly loved cousins, nieces and nephews. Roy served on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home and taught Bible study at St. Paul's United Methodist Church for more than 20 years. He served with numerous civic and charitable organizations in northeast Louisiana. He was a 1956 graduate of Louisiana Tech University and a member of the Pi Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was a successful Chevrolet dealer in Mer Rouge and opened the second Honda Motorcycle dealership in north Louisiana. He later became the 5th largest Mercury outboard motor dealer in America. For almost 38 years he sold life insurance, reaching the elite status of Court of the Table in the Million Dollar Round Table. He was recognized as ranking in the top 1% of all active life insurance agents in America. Pallbearers will include David Turrentine, Herschel Ryan, Bill Brodie, Clifton Porch, and Joe Cooper Rolfe. Donations in his memory may be made to The Louisiana Methodist Children's Home.
