FLOYD MIRRIE WOOD

Funeral services for Floyd Mirrie Wood, 93, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 
11:00 AM, Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. 
Roger Stoffer officiating. Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery, under the 
direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mr. Wood was born in Rayville, LA, on April 1, 1922 and went home to be with 
Jesus on Sunday, January 17, 2016, at his residence in Monroe. He was an Army 
World War II veteran and retired as an air conditioner and heat installer.

Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his beloved mother and father; Daisy Viola 
Wood and Elton T. Wood, Sr.; two children; and three brothers, Elton Tripplet 
Wood Jr., Calvin Wood, and Eddie Wood, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Graham Wood; seven children, Barbara Wood 
Patton, Betty Wood Robertson, Jerry Wood, Billy Wood, Sharon Wood Robertson, 
Sherman Wood, Johnny Nichols; one sister, Alice Faye Wood Munn of Perryville, 
AR; twenty-one grandchildren, fifty-one great grandchildren, thirty-five great-
great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be David Wood, Lester Wood, Charles Wood, Eddie Wood, Jr., 
Wesley Wood, and Frank Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Clinton McMurry, 
Freddie Oliveaux, and Buddy Wood.

Visitation will be Wednesday at the church beginning at 5:00 PM.
