ROBERT LOUIS WOOD 

Robert Louis Wood, age 85, of Jena, Louisiana, was received into Heaven 
Sunday, August 29, 2010. He was born September 9, 1924, to the union of Louis 
A. Wood and Audrey Irene (Tucker) Wood. Mr. Wood is preceded in death by 
parents and one sister, Chlois Simmons. He is survived by his wife of 49 
years, Frances Cooper Wood of Jena; two daughters, Suzy Cross of Plano, Texas 
and Robin Nall and husband, Ricky of Pineville, Louisiana; two sons, Alan M. 
Knight of Swartz, Louisiana and Robert "Rob" Wood, Jr., of Evans Georgia; two 
sisters, Clara Mae Hinson of Searcy, Arkansas and Avalyn Young of Tyler, 
Texas; thirteen (13) grandchildren and four (4) great grandchildren. Funeral 
services were held at First Baptist Church at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 31, 
2010, with Rev. Dominick DiCarlo officiating. Mr. Wood was laid to rest in the 
Forest Lawn Memorial Park of Pineville, Louisiana under the direction of 
Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena, Louisiana. Pallbearers were Josh 
Windham, Luke Windham, Joey Knight, Ricky Nall, Hunter Cross and Tucker Cross. 
Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of the First Baptist Church of Jena, 
Louisiana. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the American Cancer 
Society ; Operations Christmas Child Fund or Coats for Kids at First Baptist 
Church of Jena, Louisiana
