She passed away peacefully in her home on June 8, 2009. She is survived by her children, Jimmy Worley and wife Deborah of Bastrop, LA, Victor Worley of Tyler, TX, Connie Kellick and husband Randy of Mer Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Jamie Worley, Victoria Worley, Robert Worley, and Tanner Kellick; sister, Bobbie Blackwell; brother, Marshall Ruffin and wife Sandra; sister-in-law, Grace Worley; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends and riding students. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vollie and Keeva Ruffin; sisters, Louise Helms and Ina Grace McFarlin. Her greatest loves were her family and friends. Her greatest joys were barrel racing, teaching others to ride, and sharing her passion for horses. She was a very accomplished horsewoman having won over 40 buckles during her career. She also won all 8 of her championship saddles after the age of 72. She was a lifetime member of the Louisiana Rodeo Cowboys Association and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2007. She was also a member of the N.L.B.R.A., C.L.B.R.A., A.L.B.R.A., N.B.H.A.. L.B.H.A., and B.B.R. Pallbearers will be Clint Thrash, Bozo Anderson, James Barnes, Hal Parker, Fletcher Stephens, and Eric Barnes. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, June 10th, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Bastrop. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 11th at 10:00 a.m. at the Bonne Idee Assembly of God, Mer Rouge, LA with the Reverend Jerry Stuckey officiating. Interment will be at Forest Cemetery, Forest, LA under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. (Western attire will be considered appropriate but not required.) The family would like to thank Richland Hospice, LLC and their staff for their excellent service and loving care during this difficult time.
