Wright will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Friday, October 28, 2016, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. He passed away on October 22, 2016, at the age of 93, and will be buried in a private family graveside service. Born May 6, 1923, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Harry Ward Wright and Jessie Scheffer Wright, he grew up in Valley Springs, South Dakota. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was sent for officer training in the V-12 program at Louisiana Tech in Ruston where he met and married his wife Joyce. Following the war he returned to Louisiana Tech, earning his degree in Business Administration. George worked 25 years for Southwest Gas Producing Company, starting employment at the Dubach plant and later moving to Monroe, LA, as Purchasing Agent. In 1973 he and Joyce returned to Ruston where he became Comptroller for Davison Transport. He enjoyed his work there for 12 years before retiring. He continued preparing income tax returns and managing family real estate properties until recently. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Keith Wright, Kenneth Wright and sister Barbara Babutzke. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joyce Borland Wright; daughters: Linda Wright Robinson (Bobby), Lori Wright Davis (Todd), Jeanne Wright Pousson (David), and son Randy Wright (Maria); grandchildren: Erin Robinson Breard (Ricker), Caitlin Robinson, Leigh Ann Robinson, Bradley Davis, Taylor Davis, Kyle Pousson (Polly), Michael Pousson (Melissa), Michelle Pousson Roy (David), Daniel Wright (Caitlyn), and Elena Wright; great-grandchildren Patrick, Jacob, and Robert Roy and Caroline, Nathanael, and Thomas Pousson.
