YORK Memorial Services for Mrs. Linda J. York, 66, of Fairbanks, LA will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday, August 30, 2014 at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Sterlington with Rev. Judith Bazer officiating.Mrs. York was born on August 22, 1948 in Delhi, LA to the union of Alvis Daniel and Opal Freeland Dorris. She passed from this life peacefully on August 28, 2014 in Monroe, LA. Mrs. York was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Sterlington. She enjoyed traveling, reading, camping, but most of all, spending time with her family. Mrs. York retired from Poverty Point after 10 years of service as the curator. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Ethan York; father, Alvis Daniel Dorris and brother, Steven Dorris.She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 47 years, Steve York; children, Laura Long and her husband Doug; Betsy Hutson and her husband Clint, Seth York and fiancé Amanda West, Micah York and his wife Kathy; seven grandchildren, Samuel Long, Stephen Long, and Jon Luke Long, Noah Hutson, Hope Hutson, Elijah Hutson, and Brooklyn York; her mother, Opal Freeland Dorris; siblings, Ann Cedatol and her husband Kerry, Danny Dorris, and Freddie Dorris and his wife Susan; cousins, Pattie Phillips and Barbara Blaylock; aunt, Jeannie Womack, mother-in-law, Carolyn York; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Christus St. Joseph's Assisted Living and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care.Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Sterlington.Mrs. York was a very precious lady who will be missed by all File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/ouachita/obits/y/york3130nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/lafiles/ File size: 2.3 Kb
