Sunday, September 3, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Kevin Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery Monroe, LA. Mr. Young was born on January 28, 1930, in Claiborne Parish, LA and passed away at his residence on August 31, 2017. He was a member of McClendon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Young was an avid bowler, and loved being outdoors, deer hunting, turkey hunting and fishing. Mr. Young loved being with his family and watching them participate in many different sporting events. He also was a big LSU fan. Ralph is preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbie Young; grandson, Brian Young; and his parents, Dewey and Jessie Ruth Young. Survivors include his wife, Jean Young; children, Sue Breard and husband, Bynie, Ralph D. Young, Jr. and wife, Mary, and Mark Young and wife, Kelly; step-children, Eddie Hendry and wife, Kim, Celisa Meuwly and husband, Jerry, Tonya Stephens and husband, Keith and Melony Darden and husband, Terry; 7 grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 19 step great grandchildren; brothers, Rex Young and wife, Patsy and Fred Young and wife, Sharon; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brad Breard, Jason Young, Cole Young, Grant Young, Zach Stephens, and Jacob Darden. Honorary Pallbearer will be Cooper Young. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation. The family would like to give a special thank you to Mr. Young's many Doctors and Staff, to First Choice Hospice and Americare Services for the love and care that they showed during this time.
