GRIGSBY ZALKO Funeral Services for Mrs. Aileen F. Grigsby Zalko, 95, of Norman, OK formerly of West Monroe, LA will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 22, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA with Rev. Jon Tellifero officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe, LA. She was born October 25, 1920 in Malvern, Arkansas, and moved to West Monroe at an early age. Mrs. Aileen passed away October 6, 2016. She graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1937 and went to work in the office at Brown Paper Mill in West Monroe. She married 1st Lt. Edward J. Zalko in 1945. During the next 23 years, they were moved by the Air Force to seven different states. When Edward retired in 1964, the family moved to O'Fallon, Illinois where they lived for 48 years. While in O'Fallon, Aileen worked for the Department of Defense at Scott AFB until she retired in 1988. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jessie Grigsby; and her brother, Doyle Grigsby. Survivors include her husband, Edward J. Zalko; Daughters, Carolyn Humphreys, Norman, OK, Yvonne Burgard and spouse David of Oxford, OH; Sons, Richard Zalko and spouse Colleen of Ardmore, OK, and Edward F. Zalko and spouse Linda of San Francisco, CA; Grandchildren; Scott Humphreys and Pamela Orth, Eddie and Allison Zalko, Jessica Bryant and husband Michael Bryant, Rachel Chandley and husband Brian Chandley and Great Grandchildren; Parker Chandley, Hazel Chandley; Tanner Humphreys, Laney Humphreys, and Riley Humphreys; Cousins, Richard N. Bamburg and wife, Betty. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Air Force Aid Society, Inc., 241 18th Street South, Suite 202, Arlington, VA 22202.
