ZUBER Funeral services for George F. Zuber, 80, of Calhoun, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 10, 2014 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mike Kellett and Paul Stephens will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Mr. Zuber was born April 1, 1934 in Longview, Texas and passed away November 6, 2014 in Calhoun, LA. He retired from Johnson Equipment where he installed overhead doors and door locks. Mr. Zuber was self employed for the majority of his life as a general contractor, building houses and cabinets. He started out with his father, P.G. Zuber and Sons. As a teenager in high school he drove the school bus and worked at the golf course as a caddy and also the skating rink. Mr. Zuber was a devoted husband and avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and camper. His joy was spending quality time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Zuber was preceded in death by his parents, P.G. and Leoda Zuber; wife, Patsy Johnson Zuber; brothers, Eugene, Joe Bob, Donald and Ronald Zuber. Mr. Zuber is survived by his daughters; Pam Bryson, Ava Spurrier and husband Chet, Lori Ward and husband John; son, Matt Zuber and wife Nita; sisters, Betty Jane Carter, Laura Roberts and Juanita Webb; grandchildren; Chad Kelley and wife Amy, Brandy Doty and husband Brian, Allen Danklefsen and wife Ann, Daniel Zuber and wife Aimee, Brian Zuber and wife Heather; step-grandchildren, Howard Spurrier, Melanie Sturks, Maretta Harris and husband Michael; 8 great- grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Daniel Zuber, Brian Zuber, Steven Zuber, Howard Spurrier, Allen Danklefsen and Chad Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Phillips and Regan Zuber. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
