Mary Virginia Scott Fitzgerald was born in Catahoula Parish Louisiana and her 
father Samuel Charles Scott was killed in the Civil War Battle at Perryville, 
Ky. and died at Camp Nelson Hospital Kentucky.  He was a Captain in the 25th 
Louisiana Infantry.  

Mary Virginia married  James Peter Fitzgerald and had  4 children:  3 sons 
Leonard, Samuel Scott and Charles Walter and one daughter Olie.  Her 
descendants Jay, Chris, and Jeff know her well and their move to Texas will be 
included in a biography of her father Samuel Charles Scott who founded the 
town of Monterey, La.
