CARTER, Civil Court, Ouachita Parish, La., Divorces 1919 to 1927

This is only the first 9 divorces of Carter family in Ouachita Parish as listed in their civil court index.
Note there is none indexed before 1919.  Parish has lost the index book of earlier years of civil records although there is 45 earlier books.

Married 1902 Ouachita Parish,   He says she left in 1911 to Greenville, Mississippi and is living with Joe Sullivan.  Pg. 308 she through an advocate says she left but not living with other.  Divorced March 19, 1919

Married 1908 Ouachita Parish,  She says he is committing adultery with Tiny Cambell on Haynes Ln. Monroe, La. December 1st through 4th, 1919.  No Property, No Children.  Divorced December, 3, 1919

Married 1947 Ouachita Parish.   He says she has been untrue, unkind, and not faithful and left their home, on the plantation of Jim Stanley, 1 ½ years ago and now lives with another man in Fanbanks, Ouachita Parish.  Divorced January 27, 1950

James Carter vs. Julia Butler Carter		10322	bk.50		pg 694
Married 1912 Shreveport, Caddo Parish.  He says he works at Booth Furniture Co. and she moved in 1916 with Willie Harris.  No property, no kids.  Divorced 1923

Mose Carter vs. Nellie Grant Carter		10348	bk. 50		pg. 828
Married December 1918.  He says she is in open adultery with George Casey since 1920.  Later she never appeared in court to defend herself.   Divorced 1923

Archilla Carter vs. Emanuel Carter		11776	bk. 57		pg. 276, 406, 491
Married July 4, 1914.  She says he up and left the state for no reason October 1915.  He did not defend himself.   Divorced February 17, 1923

Emma Carter vs. Matt Carter			13077	bk. 63		pg. 520
	Married unstated.   She gave no reason nor did he protest getting a divorce.  Divorced January 22, 1925

W.S. Carter the tutor of minors of Talton Carter deceased concerning the use of estate property to pay debts

Married June 21, 1923 Point, La.   She says he is untrue, unfaithful, and abandoned her and moved December 10, 1926 to Danville, Caldwell Parish with Ida Parks.  She ask to restore her maiden name of Audrey B. Caldwell.   No property no children.  Divorced April 6. 1927
