CHARLES BALLAY

Born 1854 and immigrated to this country a few years after our Civil 
strife, choosing as his domicile, Home Place(Plaquemines Parish)

Mr. Ballay went into general merchandise business in which he has been 
quite successful and is the owner of one of the largest truck farms in 
this parish, his produce being among the first on the market.

Though he be plain and reticent in manner, Mr. Ballay’s re-election to the 
Police Jury and popularity among his constiuents be speak a gentleman of 
high moral convictions and wise judgment.
