J.B. FASTERLING

Born in 1867 a native of Plaquemines Parish and of German parentage, He 
received his early education in the public schools of this parish until 
the 14, then went to the military Academy of Mississippi, remaining one 
term and distingushing himself in profifiency of studies. He then entered 
Commercial College of Col. George Soule, where he attended two terms, 
obtaing a through business education. At the age of 17 he entered the 
merchantile business under the supervision of his Father the late B. 
Fasterling until the latter’s death, in 1886. He then succeeded in the 
business.
