The funeral took place Saturday at the St Thomas Catholic Church and interment made in the St Thomas Cemetery. ***** TABONY-0n Thursday February 5th, 1925 at 3 0'c1ock a. m., at her home at Bohemia, Mrs. D A Tabony, aged 78 years. A native of Plaquemines Parish. Mrs Taboony lived all her life near the very spot where she had first seen the light of day. She had reared a fine family of seven boys. She was a devoted mother and a true Christian woman, being a mamber of the Espiscopal churh. She is survived by three sons, Joseph of New Orleans and John and Frank of Bohemia Plantation. The funeral of the deceased was held in the little Union Settlement church where she has so often worshipped. Rev. Righter of the Mt Olive church of algiers conducting the funeral according to the rites of the church. To the bereaved sons the Protector extends its sympathy. ***** On Sunday November 1st, 1925 Onel Dobson died at his home in Lower Pointe-a-la-Hache, after an illness of several days. He suffered from a severe case of grippe which developed into pneumonia and death followed. In the death of Onel Dobson a young man twenty five years of age this parish has lost one of its most promising young men, because young Dobson bore all the characteristics which go to make a good and vauable citizen. He bore a good personality and had a dispostion which endeared all who came in contact with him. Every resident of the Parish seat was counted as his personal friend which he had wherever he was known in the parish. Onel Dobson was the son of Ernest Dobson and the late Emelie Martin, and he was married to Louise Martin, all members of Pointe-a-al-Hache's prominent families. Besides his wife he is survived by his little son Ernest Dobson and Mrs. Dennis Hingle. ***** LASSUS-On Saturday March 21st, 1925, at 12:00 o'clock a. m., in. New Orleans at the home of her father, Placide Demandre, Margaret Demendre, beloved wife of of Leon Lassus, aged 39 years and 11 months. A native of Plquemines parish. The body was brought to Home Place Saturday afternoon by special train over tbe New Orleans & Lower Coast R'y. and on Sunday evening the last sad rites were held at St. Patrick's church. Rev. Father Lawrence officiating, a concourse of friends and acquantances being present to bid a last farewell to one who was regarded witb much esteem. She leaves a faithful husband and several children. May they find consola1ion in the reflection that the departed one, having led a life in accord with the will of Him who rules the universe, is now enjoying the blessing of eternal life and happiness. ***** Mrs. Joseph Melerine nee Jenney Rodrigusz aged 86 died Tuesday June l6th 1925 Delacroix Island. She was survived by five children towit: Celestan, Sr of Violet; Cassemire, of Delacroix Island; Cherlo of Ortrica Mrs M. Perez, of Delacroix Island and Mrs. D Ansardi of Pointe-a-la-Hache. She is survived by fort grandchildren and sixty great, great grandchildren. She was a resident of Plaquemines parish, but for the past year resided with her son at Delacroix Island at whose home she died. Interment was in the St Bernard cemetery. She was one of the oldest residents of Plaquemines parish. The symphaties of The Protector is extened to the berieved family. ***** Mrs. Marius Morlier, nee Julia Ragas aged 67 years, beloved wife of Mr. Marius Morlier, died at her residence in New Orleans on Sunday, December 13, 1925 at 1:30 o'clock a m., after an illness of two weeks duration. Mrs. Morlier was a native of Pointe-a-la-Hache, where she reided the best part of her life and where she had many relatives and friends and was held in the highest esteem and respect by the entire community who deeplore her demise. Mrs. Morlier is survived by husband, four sons, one daughter, two brothers and a umber of grandchildren We extend to the bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy in the irreparable loss they have sustained. ***** News reached us of the death Lucius Forsyth 71 years old, well-known sugar planter of Franklin La. Mr Forsyth was buried In Franklin Dec 5. Born in Plaquemines Parish, Mr Forsyth was all his life prominently connected with the sugar industry of this state having been at various times owner of numerous large plantions He is survived by his daughter, Mrs Lucia Smith and a son Rydon Forsyth of Los Angeles, Cal. {published December 19, 1925} ***** DIED- Mrs Angela Duett Dobard aged 87 years widow of C Dobard died at Ironton. La. on Thursday December 3 1925 at 7 o'clock p m Funeral services were held Saturday and conducted by Rev Father Girault and interment was made in Oakville La. ***** Capt. Eric Anderson One of the oldest and best known members of the Bar Pilots' Association, was accidentally drowned last Friday in Pass-a-l'Outre near the mouth of the river and up to present writing, Thursday, the body has not been recovered from its watery grave and it is believed has been carried out into the gulf by the strong undercurrent.Capt. Anderson was well and favorably known througout the parish and numbered his friends by the hundreds, and his taking was learned with much regret Capt. Anderson is survived by his wife and a son to whom we extend our sincerest and deepest heartfelt sympathy. ***** DIED- In New Orleans La. on Monday Oct. 5, 1925 Patrick Arroyo aged 71 years a native of Plaquemines Parish and resident of New Orleans for over forty-five years Mr. Patrick, Arroyo was a son of the late Secretary of State Oscar Arroyo was one our of best known river pilots and President of the Crescent City Pilots' Association. Mr. Arroyo 1s survived, by his wife and several children and a brother. ***** Died-in New Orleans La on Monday November 9th 1925 at 5:55 p.m. Miss Catherine Cathcart beloved daughter of Joseph Cathcart and Abby O'Brien a native of Plaquemines Parish. ***** Mrs Eliska Estopinal widow of the late General Albert Estopinal died at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon at the residence of her son, Dr. A. J. Estopinal, Arabi, La. She was 75 years old. All nine of Mrs Estopinal's sons were at her bedside at the time of her death. The sons are: Albert Estopinal Jr., Fernando, Dr. A. J., Benjamin F., R. L., C. J., F. M., David S., and L. B. Estopinal. ***** A good man gone the way of all the earth to his just reward. Wm. Menge died at his home, City Price, La., Thursday, August 13 1925, aged 77 years and 9 months. When a good and true man passes away, it is but right some tribute should be paid by one, who always loved him. He was one of those beautiful characters that stand out as shining examples. His home was his kingdom. He reared a large family, and lived to enjoy fruits of this labors by seeing them become honored and respected members of society. He was a devoted husband and an affectionate father, sympathetic heartfull of charity, and always led a holy life; Not only was he an influence for good in his own home, but the circle of influence for good will widen to all eternity. The funeral services were held at the family home, by the Rev. Righter of the Episcopal church. Now that he has crossed the bar the memory of his handclasp and kindly smile are all that is left to us and these we shall a1ways treasure among. ***** Cornelo Melerze, aged 70 years one of the oldest natives of Delacroix Island departed this life Friday June 12th, 1925 and was buried Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Cemetery. Mr. Malerine leaves two sons prominent in politics; Eddie who is Jutice of the Peace; and Sebastian, member of the school board from the 6th ward and to whom The Protector extends sympathies. ***** Mr Miguel Deogracios, aged 60 years, died Fnday, June 12, 1925 at his home at Delacroix Island. The symphaties of The Protector is extended to the berieved family. ***** BERNARD- On Sunday March 8th, 1925, at 1 o'clock p. m. Joseph Bernard beloved busband of Rose Buras aged 68 years, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Venice, Plaquemines parish for the past forty years. Mr. Joseib Bernard died at his residenc at Venice last Sunday after an illness of three day. Mr.Bernard was in his 68th year forty of which he spent in Plaquemines parish. He had been a member of the Police Jury for a number of years, and his last term was its President. His servic and record is with-out a stain or blemish. Outside, of having made a competent and ,efficient officer there was a side to Joseph Bernard's which was not to be found in many people. His disposition and character was such that all rich or poor, influential and unknown, received at his hand a kind reception and earnest attention. He was everybody's friend and brought sunshine where ever he went. He leaves a wife, three daughters, Mrs. E. Alberti, Mrs H Schoenberger and Mrs Galle. Interment was made in the cemetry near his home. In the death of this man Plaquemines parish loses on of her best known and most highly esteemed citizens, a man who was loved for the purity of his life and recitude of his conduct. The Protector extends its sympathy to the berieved family. ***** After an illness of a few months Steve Zuvich died at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans. Wednesday 14th, 25, age 61 years and was buried Friday in the Savonian tomb at Buras. He had been a resident of Buras for the past 36 years and was one of P1aquemines most promiment oyster planters and shipper of famous Bayon Cook section of our parish. To his bereaved family the Protector extends heart felt sympathy. {published January 24, 1925} ***** Stockfleth-on Sunday January 25th 1925 at 9:50 a.m. in New Orleans Joseph Stockfleth husband of tbe 1ate Zelonie V. Bulot, aged 65 years, 11 months. A native of Plaquemines parish The funeral took place Monday afternoon from the residence of his daughter Mrs J. C. DeArmas 8O01/2 Hickory Sreet. ***** TABONY-n Sunday January 25th, 1925 at 11:45 o'clock p.m. James Tabony, beloved husband of Christina Kocke aged 43 years. A native of Pointe-a-la-Hache. ***** Pauline LaFrance Hingle 68 years of Pointe a la Hache on October 31 1926 beloved wife of Felix S Hingle mother of Mr Paul T Hingle, Miss Daisy Hingle, Mrs E W {Leocadie} Gravolet, Mrs Clay Cosse and Mrs Charles {Bella} Ellington. *****
