He was 69 years old. He is survived by his widow the former Therese Martin; a stepson, Clarence Kimble; brother E.W. Gravolet and two sisters Mrs Lucretia Gravolet and Mrs Pelas Gravolet. Funeral services were held in New Orleans followed by rites at the St. Thomas Catholic Church at Pointe a la Hache. Senator Gravolet was buried in the new St Thomas Cemetery. ***** On Monday April 13, 1953 PETER ANSARDI husband of Josephine Graves; father of Elvina Serinet and Batiste ansardi; brother of William, Sebastian and Adrian Ansardi, Mrs. Pauline Dragon, Mrs Louise Gonzales, Mrs Marc Jeanfreau, Mrs Eugenie Darrau, Mrs Joseph Salvadore and the late Louis Ansardi and Mrs Victoria Casezau; age 61 years; a resident of Davant La. ***** Joseph B. Gravolet of English Turn and life long resident of Plaquemines Parish died Tuesday Jan. 26, 1953 at the Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans. He was 57 years of age. Son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Paul Gravolet. Survived by his wife Mrs Beulah Perez Gravolet; his step-daughters, Mrs. Wilson Dauterive, Mrs Emile Falgout and Mrs Vernon Bourgeois; his brothers Ben S Gravolet, Charles and Zachary; his sisters Josephine and Cleona Gravolet and Mrs G Bertrand and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held in New orleans with religious services at Sacred heart of Jesus church and interment in Hope Mausoleum in New Orleans. ***** Funeral services were held Tuesday September 13, 1953 morning for mrs Regina Perez McCurdy wife of Edward McCurdy who died at her home in Belle Chasse last Sunday night. Religious services were held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at Belle Chasse with interment at Hope Mausoleum in New Orleans. She was the daughter of the late Olympe Thiel and Johnson Perez; mother of mrs. L H Jeanfreau, Mrs Ione Phillips and Hugh B McCurdy; sister of Mrs M W Bannowetz and Leonard Perez of St Louis, Mo. ***** On Wednesday afternoon January 28, 1953 Leon Lassus, husband of Annie Pigniola; father of Mrs Harold Wilhoite of Detroit Mich., Leon Royle, Earnel C., Lionel L., Vernon A., Lassus and a step-son August Pigniola; brother of Mrs Luke Scobel amd Mrs H Yuratich; also survived by 8 grandchildren; a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish; Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. ***** On Tuesday morning November 3, 1953 ANGELIQUE PELAS YURATICH wife of the late Paul Yuratich; mother of Mrs W H Childress, Mrs C L Cook, Pearl, Emmett, Emile, and Walter Yuratich; sister of Mrs Toney Carini, Mrs Louis Larsen and Mrs Louis Cazezu, Edward, Phillip, Numa and Rene Pelas; age 75 years; a native and lifelong resident of Buras La. Interment in Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery. ***** On Monday November 9, 1953 MRS LOUISE NORENE BURAS wife of Anthony J Buras; mother of Mrs Joseph P Buras, Mrs Joseph Goodman, Mrs Walter Bailey, Mrs Albert Taylor and the late Emmett L Buras; sister of Mrs Valrie sarett and the late Mrs Desire Buras, John C and Theophile buras; also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchild and 1 great-great grandchild; age 76 years; a resident of Venice La. ***** On Teusday August 11, 1953 MRS OVIDE COSSE SR. {nee ELSIE CURE} wife of Ovide Cosse Sr; mother of Ovide Jr, Joseph and Kermit Cosse, Mrs Herman Barkmeyer, Mrs Wilkes Hingle; also survived by 29 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; age 70 years; a resident of Pointe a la Hache La. ***** The Gazette joins with the many friends in Plaquemines parish of John Persich of Buras in extending sympathy over the sudden death of his brother Nicholas S Persich, prominent druggist in New Orleans, who passed away in his residence after a heart attack on December 20, 1953. ***** On Tuesday Evening Mrs Emma Humbrecht Kern wife of the late Anton W Kern; mother of Anton A Sr and Mathais A Kern Sr; sister of Eugene and Joseph, Mrs A Schwartz and Anna Felix; age 78 years; Interment in St. John Cemetery. ***** On Thursday October 29, 1953 of a gunshot wound Mrs Jane Buras wife of Bernard Buras; mother of Bernard A and Jeannine Buras; daughter of Linis Bacan and the late Anthony Cos; sister of mrs Alexis Pepine, Mrs James Lemoine, Nicholas Mistich and Anthony Cos; a resident of Buras La for the past 6 years. Interment in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery. Joseph 'Jake' Demoines is in Charity Hospital under guard by parish deputy sheriffs, for selfinflicted gunshot wounds. After killing Mrs. Buras he shot himself with a .32 calibre revolver. *****
