Mrs. Marie Louise Lassus of buras wife of Luke Scobel ied last Saturday 
March 27 1954. She was the mother of Mrs B. J. Perez Sr., Mrs E N Perez, 
Mrs Edith Ballay, Paul, Leon, John, Clem, and Emmett Scobel; also survived 
by 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. a native of Plaquemines 
Parish. A requiem mass at Our Lady of Good Harbor Church, Buras La.

{published January 23, 1954} George Treadaway, a former member 
of the PIaquemines Parish Police Jury for several terms and 
prominently associated with the parish, died at his residence 
in Potash Saturday, Jan. 6. He was 80 years old and a native 
of Potash. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Leontine 
Treadaway by first marriage and the late Mrs. Eugnie Hingle by 
second marriage. Funeral services were held Monday from Algiers 
with requiem mass at St. Patrick church Home Place, and 
interment in St. Patrick cemetery at Home Place. Relatives, 
friends of the family and parish officials attended the funeral. 
Mr. Treadaway is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Stella Bendix 
Mrs Margaret Mehrhoff, Mrs.  Leantine Hingle and his son Ernest 
Treadaway; his sister Mrs. Mary Buras and brothers, Elbridge, 
Henry, Anthony, James, Octave, Steve, Joseph,  John and the 
late Samuel Treadaway. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren 
and 22 great grandchildren. The Plaquemines Gazette extends 
sympathy to the bereaved family.

On November 5, 1954 MARIE MELERINE ANSADI wife of the late 
Dominick Ansardi; mother of Abraham, Robert, Casimire, John 
and Louis Ansardi, Mrs Joseph Dragon and the late Adam, Jack, 
August, and Ambrose Ansardi; Casimire Melerine and the late 
Joseph, Celestine, and Cerillo Melerine, Mrs Miquel Perez and 
Mrs. Flander Dennis; also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 
great grandchildren; age 90 years; a native of St. Bernard Parish 
and a resident of Plaquemines Parish for the past 70 years. 
Interment in St. Thomas Cemetery.

On Thursday January 7, 1954 JOSEPH CHALONA husband of Jeanne 
Marie Sallettes; father of  Mrs Lawrence A. Molony, Mrs. J 
Morgan Lyons and Frank J Chalona; brother of Mrs Leon Tujague, 
Mrs john Fogarty, Mrs Henry Leidenheimer, Mrs Paul Croudre and 
Mrs Paul Tiowaty; also survived by 7 grandchildren; age 76 years; 
A resident of New Orleans and Buras La.

On Tuesday December 21, 1954 MARY AMELIA TAUSCH FOX wife of the 
late Henry Fox Jr; mother of Mary Ethel Fox, Mrs Roy Simmons, 
Mrs Albert Ansardi, Louis, Henry and Charles Raymond; sister of 
Mrs Wim. M Edgecombe; also survived by 9 grandchildren; age 
71 years; a native of Des Moines Iowa and a resident of Pointe 
a la Hache for the past 37 years.Interment in Pointe a la Hache 
Cemetery.

On Wednesday October 27, 1954 NICHOLAS POPICH SR husband of 
Evelyn Bacon Popich; father of Nicholas Jr and Rosemary Popich; 
son of the late Anna and Anthony Popich; brother of Olivia, John, 
and tyhe late Tony Popich and Mrs Mary Marinovich; age 53 years; 
Interment in Our Lady of Good Harbor cemetery.

Cacibauda; mother of Mrs Rosa Butcalis, Mrs frances Allo, Mrs 
Josephine Hearman, Mrs Marie Motonelaro, Jack, Joseph, Paul, 
Carl and Leon Cacibauda; sister of Paul and Rose Jenova; also 
surived by 23 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; age 70 
years; A resident of Belle Chasse. Interment in Morganza 
Cemetery, Morganza Louisiana.

Miss Gladys Hodge of Ruston, Mrs H B Fleming of Houston and 
Mrs John Glassell of Blecher, E. W. and Otis E Hodge Jr of 
Ruston; also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grand
children; a native of Holly Springs, Ark. {Published in 1954}
