All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Claiming much attention August 27th, was the marriage of Miss Jill Franz Bertucci, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Alvin Carmelo Bertucci to Mr. Chalin Octave Perez, Jr. son of Mr. Perez and Mrs. Mary Ellen Sheehan Perez. The Most Holy Name of Jesus Church, New Orleans was the setting for the 3 o'clock afternoon nuptial mass performed by the Rev. V. Ambrose Mclnnes, O.P. assisted by the Rev. Auguste Coyle S. J. and the Rev. William Collins S.M. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of candlelight English net over silk peau de soir. The bodice, fashioned with a wide U-decoltage and short capsleeves, was completely overlayed in white Brusselslace. The scalloped edges of the lace outlined the neck line and edged the sleeves. Covered buttons and loops closed the bodice back. Her A-line skirt of English net was appliqued at the center front with medallions of Brussels lace and finished at the hemline with the lace scallops. The back. of the softly gathered skirt swept into a full catheral train. She wore an heirloom mantilla of Brussels lace, and carried a spray bouquet of gardenias, stephanotis and lilies of the valley. Miss June Zatarain Bertucci was her sister's maid-of-honor, and the other bridal attendants were Miss Joy Aline Bertucci, sister of the bride; Misses Lucille Ellen and Mary LeBourgeois Perez, sisters of the bride-groom; Miss Edith Charlotte Parker, Mrs. Timothy Henry Norton, and Miss Ruth Rasch Meric of Houston, Texas. The bridesmaids wore long sleeveless gowns of tiny floral Liberty printed voile in hues of green and off white. A crystal pleated ruffle trimmed in ecru crocheted lace accented the off the shoulder neckline. A band of lace was repeated at the natural waist line, and their A-line skirts, gathered at the back, ended in a slight sweep. They carried nosegays of daisies and variegated ivy. The flower girl was little Miss Rushell Maria Bertucci, niece of the bride. She wore a floor length gown of off white imported batiste. Her empire bodice was fashioned with a pleated bertha collar with insertions of imported Valencia lace. Her tiny puffed sleeves were edged in matching lace. A satin sash with a bow and long streamers at the back accented her empire waistline. She carried a natural basket daisies and wore a wreath of stephanotis. Mr. Robert Henry Perez served his brother as best man, and the groomsmen and ushers were Messrs. Duane Alvin Bertucci, brother of the bride; Richard Joseph Carrere Jr., cousin of the groom; Michael Louis Carrare of Tampa, Fla; John Porter Randle, William Sidney Smith III, Hardy Booth Fowler Jr., John Maxwell Robin, John Dane III, Cyril Paul Geary III, Thomas Dugan Westfeldt, Donald Bernard Bohn Jr., Thomas Gerard Diano, Gregory Francis Gambel, and Mark Allen LeBlanc. Following the ceremony, Dr. and Mrs. Bertucci entertained at a reception for the wedding guests at the New Orleans Country Club. Later in the evening the young couple left on their wedding trip to Hawaii and Acapulco. The bride's traveling ensemble was a two piece suit of red cotton chambray. The long sleeve jacket with a front closure was styled with a maderine collar and pleats at either side. She wore a milan straw hat circled with a multi colored silk scarf. The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Louis Zatarain and Mrs. Emile Agustus Bertucci and the late Dr. Bartucci. The groom is a grandson of Mrs. LeBourgaois Sheehan and the late Mr. Eugene Sheehan, and the late Judge and Mrs. Leander Henry Perez of Belle Chasse.
