Woodrow Smith at the First United Methodist Church in New Orleans. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ezekiel Winnfield Gravolet of Pointe-a-la-Hache and the late Senator Gravolet. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Julian Darden of Baton Rouge. The bride, escorted down the aisle by her brother Mr. Austin Yawn, wore an elegant long gown of white silk peau de soie and silk organza fluting. The fitted bodice had a V-shaped neckline edged in fluting. The princess dart line was piped in peau de soie as was the waistline. The long tight sleeves were finished in a deep flouce of pleated organza. The full skirt had window pane panels edged in piping and fluting. The hemline and cathedral length train were finished in the pleated organza. She wore a Victorian style hat. It had a turned up brim, with a fluted edged, and a crown completely covered with silk orange blossoms. A cathedral length veil of imported English illusion jell gracefully from the hat. The bride's bouquet was a cascading style of stephnotise blossoms, and gardenias with trailing smilax. Mrs. Danny Priestly, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor and brides - maids were Mrs. David Priestly, Miss Cynthia Capone, Miss Kim Benvenutti, Mrs. Barry Dartus, and Migs Eileen McGinty. The bridesmaids' gowns were of ruby hued jersey with a soft chiffon cape. They had pleated skirts and fitted bodices with spaghetti straps. Their chiffon capes carried out the pleated theme of the entire wedding. The bouquets were a cascading style of bridal pink sweetheart roses, gardenias, and garnet sweetheart roses with green foliage. Sara Schoonmaker, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl. Danny Priestly was the best man and groomsmen were brother of the groom Mr. David Darden and Messrs. Joe Cupus, Rich Mengham, Michael Nanney and Clay Stewart. Johsi Jones served as ring bearer. The groom's father and Mr. Wayne Hebert, cousin of the groom, and Messrs. David Priestly and Lawrence Tabony were ushers. A reception followed the ceremony at the Grand Salon Royal Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, where Mrs. Gravolet received in a flowing pink chiffon dregs with a matching pink cymbidium orchid. The groom's mother wore a light mint green pleated chiffon dress with matching cymbidium orchids. For a wedding trip, the newlyweds chose Puerto Rico. They plan to make their home in Baton Rouge. The groom's parents gave the couple a rehearsal dinner at the Pontchartrain Hotel the evening before the wedding ceremony.
