COLLETTE, both natives of this parish were married at St. Patrick's Church at Home Place on Wednesday, 3 February 1900 at 11 a.m. ***** The Church was crowded from the chancel to the portals by representives of the relatives and friends of the Pat Lyons and T. Collette families ***** The chancel was handsomely decorated with ferns and blush roses in immense quantities, giving the sanctuary an appearance of a spot in the Garden of Eden. ***** The bride beautiful gowned in a "toilette de soiter" that was elegance itself, was accompanied by her uncle Stephen O'Brien, Esq. to the alter where the groom and his best man and brother, Mr. Martin Lyons awaited her coming. ***** Pretty Miss Louise Lincoln acted as bridesmaid.... After the church ceremony, a reception was held at the residence of the bride's mother and Mr. Thomas M. Gilmore of New Orleans acted as Master of Cerenonies in a speech sparkling with wit and good humor,.... ***** Mr. and Mrs Lyons left Home Place by the evening train for their home in Terry, Hinds County, mississippi. ***** Mr Edward J. FREDERICKand Miss Blanche A. HEBERT, the accomplished daughter of Dr. N.M. Hebert of Covington, Louisiana were married on the 19th of March 1900. ***** Mr. Charles BALLAY of Ninth Ward and Widow Ernestine COLLETTE, nee O'BRIEN, were united in holy bonds of Matrimony Wednesday, 27 June 1900 at St. Patrick Church at Home Place.... ***** Mr. Ballay is the present Police Juror for the ninth ward where his reputation for sobriety and praticality are unquestioned. Mrs. Ballay is a descendent of a pioneer family and has many charming traits and beauty. ***** Mr. A.N. DECKNER nd Miss Rita JEANFREAU, the daughter of Captain Alphonse Jeanfreau had a quite but pretty wedding last Saturday, 14 july 1900 at St. Thomas Church, Rev. F. Collie OfficiatingThe couple left the following day for Houston, Texas, which they plan to make their future home. ***** Henry DOLESE and Alice CAVALIER were married at Burbridge, Plaquemines Parish, last Tuesday, 21 August 1900. ***** Harry C. HUNTINGTON and Miss Josephine ALBERTI were married in Buras at the residence of the bride's parents on Saturday, 18 August 1900.The bride isone of the most beautiful young girls in this parish and endowed with lovely traits of character. She is the daughter of our popular Clerk of Court.A ROMANTIC MARRIAGE (Louisiana Girl Goes To Georgia To Wed) ***** Mr. Jodi SMITH amd Miss Clara DURABB of Neptune, Plaquemines Parish.When the dawn passenger train reached Harrison one morning a little over week ago, apretty girlish figure stepped off on the platform depot.The young woman who was Miss Clara DURABB of Neptune, La. had journeyed all the way on of an urgent letter from her lover, Mr. Jodie SMITh, of Dublin. The message stated that he was sick and had requested her imediate presence. Behind all was a romance of more than usual interest which cupid had planned to very the monotomy of matchmaking. While waiting in the passenger room of the depot a friend of Mr. Smith's accosted her and informed her that the object of her love had got strong enough to go to Dublin. With a determined spirit she took the train. When it stopped, the young Louisianian attired in smart traveling costume, with a handbag in her hand, stepped smilingly from the platform of the rear coach. At the depot she was met by some of Mr. Smiths' friends and driven to Mr. Colley's residence. When she saw the man of her choice, her face lit up with a glow of supreme happiness. Tears of joy were in her eyes of the happy young woman; A look of proud triumph lit up the face of the man.Last Thursday their marriage was solemized (18 Oct. 1900)Mr. Smith, during the Spanish War, enlisted and was sent to Fort St. Philip. Not for from the post was the little seaside town of Neptune. Smith visited her there and they fell in love. When his enlisted expired, he called on the girl to bid her farewell, promising never to forget her. He kelp his promise. ***** Mr. Alcide J. COSSE and Miss Anita LEGEUNE were united in holy bonds of matrimony. Rev. Mignot officiating on 4 December 1900 ***** Mr. Joseph BALLAY and Miss Anasthasie BOUCHER celebrated their marriage 29 Nov. 1900 at 5 o'Clock in the evening at St. Patrick Church by the Rev. Gustave Mertens, in the presence of numerous friends and relatives, St. Patrick Church was tastefully decorated with ferns and flowers of the season. The bridesmaids were Miss Suzanne Chartier and miss Fanny Ballay. ***** LORY - WILSON; Last Saturday, 9 April 1904, at Pilot Town school house, Pilot Town, Louisiana, there was performed the marriage ceremony of Mr. Nathaniel Lorey and Miss Bertha Wilson ; both of this parish, Judge W. Delesternier officiating.Miss Louise Zibilich was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Misses Louise Anna and Adele Carrigan. Mr. B.J. McCullum as best man with Messrs. Charles Smith, George Levin and W. Maple as groomsmen. The bride was given away by her Uncle, Mr. Henry Nelson. *****
