Augustine Church. After the ceremony the couple retired to the grooms home at Pointe-a-la- Hache ***** Mr. Anthony CARVIC & Miss Nickoline MARINOVICH was celebrated 30 January 1909 at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady Of Good Harbor Church at Buras. Rev Father VEAL officiating.... The ceremony was very beautiful and impressive. Following the church service, a toast was tendered by DR. BALLOWE at his hospital home, after which the bridal party boarded the trim little launch "Empire", where a sumptuous repast awaited them at the home of the groom. Dancing, singing and gay repartee enlivened the guests until midnight.... ***** Mrs. Valeric HINGLE & Miss Angela BURAS was celebrated Wednesday 3 February 1909 at the home of the bride, in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. ***** Mr. Oliver YOUNG and Miss Denise CHARTIER marriage was celebrated at ST. Patrick's Church. The bride's dress was light blue silk trimmed with lace with a hat to match. She was attended by her sister, Miss Agnas CHARTIER as maid of honor, while Miss Annie BALLAY acted as bridesmaid. The groom who is a valued employee of the government was attended by Mr. Jack BALLAY as best man. The young couple entertained at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Ben BALLAY, and then at the home of Mr. Augustin BALLAY, where dancing was indulged in..... Mr & Mrs Young will make their home in New Orleans .( date was not mentioned and I did not write published date, but it was before the next mention marriage with a date) ***** Mr. Joseph HINGLE and Miss Anna Vivtoria LASSUS the charming daughter of Mrs. B. LASSUS, both of Empire were married at Doullet's Canal last Wednesday afternoon in the presence of friends and relatives. The ceremony was performed by Judge B. Emmet HINGLE..... Mr & Mrs HINGLE boarded the north bound evening train for New Orleans and from their they leave for a fortnight's stay along the gulf coast. ( date not mentioned) ***** Clarence B. HENRITZY and Miss Bernice LOUDERBOUGH of Daisy were married Wednesday 14 April 1909 at 7:30 p.. at the home of the bride's parents, Mr & Mrs. W.J. LOUDERBOUGH. Rev. W. SLACK officiated. The home was profusely decorated with ferns, spanish moss and a quantify of roses. The bride looked lovely in her beautiful wedding dress of white Albatross, trimmed with lace and satin. Her attendants were Miss Ilvie HENRITZY and Miss Odile HINGLE, Mr. Wilmer HINGLE & Eddie SIMMS were groomsmen. ***** DR. David M. HASPEL & Miss Leona BER were married 21 October 1808 ( Typo? - published Apr 1909) Dr. Haspel is the son of Hon. Isaac L. HASPEL. The bride is the charming daughter of Mr & Mrs Michel BER. ***** Mr Benjamin STOCKFLETH & Miss Lillie BOWERS, charming daughter of Mr & Mrs John BOWERS JR, celebrated marriage on Thursday, 10 June 1909. Mr STOCKFLETH, is thepopular son of Mr. Fred STOCKFLETH. Among dear friends and relatives assembled in the parlor and promptly at 7:12, the bridal party entered, followed by bridesmaids, Misses Alice And Onita BOWERS, sisters and cousin of the bride. Then came the bride, leaning on the arm of her father, to meet the groom, attended by his groomsmen, August STOCKFLETH & David BOWERS. The ceremony was performed by Judge c. HINGLE.... The bride never looked sweeter than in her snowy white silk mull wedding gown, made princess and her lovely veil caught to her hair with a beautiful wreath of orange blossoms. The groom wore the conventional black. Mr & Mrs STOCKFLETH left immediately for their lovely little cottage just completed situated on the West side of the river. ***** Mr. Vallire DAUTERIVE & Miss Rita HINGLE of New Orleans were married Saturday evening, 12 June 1909 at ST. Cecelia's Church. Mr. DAUTERIVE is from Fort ST. Leon, son of Captain & Mrs Thalieu DAUTERIVE, a prominent resident in the upper part of Plaquemines Parish. Miss HINGLE was attended by miss Aide DAUTERIVE as maid of Honor. ***** Mr. Sidney B. MERVERS & Miss Bertha GUNN were married in New Orleans 30 June at 7 p.m. The groom is the son of Hon. Frank C. MERVERS, sheriff of this parish. The wedding took place at the home of Mr & Mrs Chas. ROSENBERG in new Orleans. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Felix HILL, pastor of First Methodidt Church.... The bride wore a white lace trimmed gown of Grandmother Swiss and the groom, a black prince Albert suit. Little Dorothy ROSENBERG acted as ring bearer. The couple honeymooned in Ashville, NC. ***** Mr ESTOPINAL & Miss Delapaine JEANFREAU charming daughter of Mr & Mrs Harris JEANFREAU of Creedmore Plantation, ST Bernard Parish, were married Wednesday, 7 July at 7 p.m. at ST Bernard Church. The groom is Secretary of the Board of Commissioners of Bayou Terre - Aux- Borufs Drainage district. ***** Mr Victor FASONIE of Belair 7 miss Lucille SAVASTANO of Bertrandville, were married Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the residence of the bride's parents in the Woodlawn Settlement, Rev. KELLGG of Jesuits Bend performing the ceremony. The room was beautifully decorated with white carnations and a variety of beautiful Southern ferns and palms, The bride wore white silk elaborately trimmed with lace and net and was attended by Miss T. SAVASTANO, her sister and Miss Heneretta ARTIGUE. Mr Charles SAVASTANO, the bride's brother and Mr Geo. SMITH of Belair attended the groom. The bride's bouquet of white carnations, lillies, And Cape Jasmines were given to Father KELLOGG to place at the alter of the Sacred Heart at ST. Cecilia's church in Jesuit Bend. Dancing was indulged in until 4 a.m. Sunday. After a brief rest, dancing was resumed until 9 p.m Sunday. The music was by two bands. ***** John FRAZER & Miss Eleonore RONQUILLO were married Sunday, 15 July 1909 at the home of Judge C. HINGLE . The groom is one of Uncle Sam's boys at FT. ST. Philip. ***** Fred CANNON, popular son of HON. & Mrs Newton CANNON & Miss Arabella MILLER, daughter od Mr & Mrs Jake MILLER, formerly of this parish was quietly solemnized last Thursday at Lutcher, Louisiana at the home of the bride's parents . Mr & Mrs CANNON have taken up abode at Happy Jack. ***** Frank MILLER & Miss Anna HANSEN were united in marriage by Judge Geo. W. DELESDERMIER at the home of the bride's parents at S.W. Pass lighthouse on 19 August 1909. The groom is the son of Frank MILLER, a prosperous citizen of Cameron, Louisiana. The bride is the lovely daughter of Jacob HANSON, keeper od S.W. Pass lighthouse. The maids of Honor were Misses Anna BERDEE and Alice SAUVAGE and groomsmen were Messrs Tom Jones, Don HARLNETT and J.D. COLEMAN... The bride and groom will leave on the commodious launch "DEPENDENT" for Galveston, Texas where they will make their home. ***** John BROWN & Miss Rose BURAS was quitely married last Saturday night, 4 September 1909 at the home of the bride's parents. The bride was beautifully gowned in white and carried a large cluster of bride roses and fern. Judge E. FELLON performed the ceremony, only a limited number of relatives and friends were present. ***** Mr. Charles TAUSCH and Miss Nettie BROWN wee married in holy bonds of wedlock on Saturday, 25 September 1909 by Rev. W.S. SLACK at the Mount Oliver Church in Algiers. Both the bride and the groom are prominent young people of Daisy, Plaquemines Parish. ***** John H. SWITZER and Miss Edwige PEREZ were married on Tuesday 12 Oct 1909 at the church of The Immaculate Conception in New Orleans, a reception was held at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. ***** Mr. Florence MENGE and Miss Carrie BURNS were married on Wednesday, 22 September 1909 at the residence of Mrs. Edward HENRITZY. ***** Mr. Martin A. LYONS & Miss Fanny BALLAY on Wednesday 10 Nov 1909 at 4:30 p.m., were married at ST. Patrict's Church. Both young people are from prominent families of Home Place. The bride the lovely daughter of Adolph BALLAY, wore a gown of blue silk with hat to match and carried a beautiful bouquet of white carnations. After the ceremony, a reception was held in the home of the bride's parents. ***** Joseph HASPEL & miss Edith Harriett LEOPOLD had their marriage celebrated in the city (New Orleans) last Tuesady eve, 23 Nov 1909 at he home of the bride's Aunt, Mrs. FELIX. The impressive ceremony was performed by Rabbi J.L. LEUCHT beneath a bell of suspended brides roses in the spacious parlor of the Felix home.... At 8 O'clock, "Mendel Sohns wedding March" announced the coming of the bridal party as follows: Alice LAZARUS, Elise ROOS and Lucille GRABENHEIMER, ushers, Mr Isaac HASPEL and Mrs. Simon LEOPOLD, Mariam LEOPOLD, maid of Honor and Willie HASPEL, best man; Edwina MOORE, bridesmaid; Mildred BAUER, flower girl; Joseph HASPEL. The groom, accompanied by his mother, Mrs Isaac L. HASPEL and finally the bride Miss Edith LEOPOLD, leaning on the arm of her father, HON. Simon LEOPOLD. The bride's costume was particularly beautiful, of white satin messalin, trimmed with real lace, while a half wreath of orange blossoms held the long veil of illusion in place. After the ceremony, a formal reception was held. Mr & Mrs. HASPEL left the following evening for a five week trip through the East after which hey will reside in New Orleans. The bride is the daughter of HON & Mrs. Simon LEOPOLD and the groom is the son of HON. Isaac L. HASPEL, both are natives of Plaquemines Parish. ***** Mr August BURAS & Miss Mamie MARSHALL were married Monday Evening at the groom's residence. The place was artistically decorated with ferns, flowers and ribbons.... The bride was becomingly attired in a white net over silk with a long veil of illusion fastened with a wreath of orange blossoms. Elda BURAS was maid of honor. Theodore BURAS acted as groomsman. Judge FELLON officiated. A delicious supper was served after the ceremony, music and dancing was then in order and the first dance was led by the bride and groom, maid of Honor and groomsman. ***** Mr. Philip BURAS & Miss Licie BURAS celebrated their marriage Wednesday 15 December 1909 at 7 p.m. at the bride;s home. The bride was attended by Miss Sadie BURAS as maid of Honor and Mr. Alfred BURAS acted as best man to the groom. The bridesmaid and groomsman were : Miss Josephine Ledet and Lawrence BURAS. The bride wore a lovely dress of white organdy and lace with a long veil of illusion and carried a shower bouquet of bride roses and ferns...Judge E. FELLON performed the ceremony. ***** Mr. Albert MATILAGE & Miss Bertha BURAS were married in a very pretty ceremony 20 December 1909 at 10 a.m. at ST. Patrick Church ( Home Place) at the appointed hour the bridal party entered to the peal of wedding bells, the bride leaning on the arm of her father was met at the alter by the groom. Miss Annette BURAS, sister of the bride, was maid of Honor. Mr. John Tredaway was best man. The bridesmaids were : Misses Mary MATILAGE; Susan HINGLE; and Mary TREDAWY, the groomsmen were : Messrs. mark BURAS; Ferdinand ABADIE; and Gabriel BOUGON. The bride wore a lovely gown of white china silk and lace with a veil of illusion and orange blossoms and carried a bouquet of brides roses and ferns. The maid of Honor and bridesmaids were gowned in white with clusters of pink roses and ferns. *****
