The Petitioner Margaret Collins, widow of Timothy O'Brien who resides in the Parish of Plaquemines Respectfully Shows That Timothy O'Brien late a resident of this Parish departed this life at Petite Prairie on the 2nd day of June 1873 leaving property both real and personal within this Parish and within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court. That your petitioner was married to said Timothy O'Brien in the city of New York on the 28th October 1850 by which marriage the following children were born all of whom were living: Ellen Maria O'Brien, wife of Joseph Redmann, William James O'Brien aged 25 years, Abby Ann O'Brien wife of Joseph Cathcart, Mary Elizabeth O'Brien aged 21 years, Catherine Jane O'Brien wife of Thomas Craig, Stephen Maurice O'Brien, no age listed, Annie Josephine O'Brien aged 12 years, Johanna Margaret O'Brien aged 10 years, all living in the Parish. That all the property acquired by said deceased Timothy O'Brien belonged to the Community of request and gains between petitioner and ...(Text unreadable for 2 lines). That an inventory should be taken of the property, affects, belongings ...(Text unreadable for 2 lines) Therefore petitioner knows the accused affidavit considered that Joseph Redmann be appointed guardian to said minors (Stephen Maurice, Annie Josephine and Johanna Margaret O'Brien). That an inventory be taken of the property and effects belonging unto the Succession of Timothy O'Brien. decreed by A. E. Livaudais, Esq. Recorder of this Parish that appraisers be appointed to value this same and that after said Inventory shall have been taken a certificate there of value that petitioner be confirmed Natural Titling to said Minors according to law.
